0.19.1250 as the
older version.
With Homebrew
Homebrew installs the latest release asnuon and as a versioned formula, nuonco/tap/nuon@<version>.
You can install multiple versions, but only one can be linked as nuon at a time, so you switch by unlinking one and linking the
other.
If you also installed the CLI with the install script or by hand, that copy (often
~/bin/nuon) may come before
Homebrew’s on your PATH, and running nuon keeps calling it no matter which formula is linked. Run which -a nuon to
see every nuon on your PATH. Remove the other copies, or put Homebrew’s bin directory first.Your shell also remembers where it last found nuon, so after switching it can keep running another copy even when
Homebrew’s comes first. Run hash -r (or rehash in zsh), or open a new shell.Install an older version
Unlink the latest release, then install the older version. It is linked asnuon when the install finishes:
Switch back to the latest release
Unlink both versions, then link the latest release and upgrade it in case a new release has come out since you last used it. Unlinking both works whichever version is linked now:Switch to the older version
nuon version after switching to confirm which version is linked.
Replace the older version
When the control plane you use the older version with is upgraded, install the formula for its new version and remove the old one. For example, after an upgrade to0.19.1260:
Side by side without Homebrew
To run versions side by side instead of switching, download each version’s binary under its own name. Binaries are published athttps://nuon-artifacts.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/cli/<version>/nuon_<platform> (see
Manual Binary Download for platforms). This example works out your platform, such as
darwin_arm64 or linux_amd64, and saves the binary to ~/bin, which must exist and be on your PATH:
nuon itself as the version you use most, for example the latest release from Homebrew.
Keep each control plane’s login separate
The CLI stores its API URL, token, and selected org in~/.nuon. When you switch between control planes, give each one
its own config file with --config (-C) or NUON_CONFIG_FILE, so logging in to one does not sign you out of the
other.
For Nuon Cloud, use nuon with the default config file:
In CI
The Nuon GitHub Action installs the version your control plane reports, so each workflow gets the right CLI for itsapi_url without extra setup. In other CI systems, use the
install script with NUON_VERSION.
